Awe Amsterdam!

November 19th, 2008 by Jonathan

We made it! Well we made it last night. Got to our Hotel rooms by 8:30pm and it was sweet. Its the same hotel that Paul and I stayed in last time so I have a pretty good idea where everything is. And the good times have already started. We get to our hotel and immediately drop our bags off and head off to get us some Argentinian Mixed Grill. Hells yeah. Best chicken and ribs I’ve ever had (having never been to Texas), though the steak skewers were only so-so. Second stop is The Grasshopper. Its a coffee shop. We smoked there. But there’s more.

Chris and I leave the coffeeshop to go back to our hotel and head to bed. Because apparently the only thing better then Ambien is weed. We make it through the front doors and are headed straight for the elevator. As we approach the elevators the front desk staff start yelling at us. Oh shit! They walk us over to the counter and say there’s a problem with our rooms. Double shit! Now here’s some back story. Several hours earlier when we checked into our rooms. I got a room with 2 single beds pushed together. I went downstairs and asked for a room change to a room with a queen size bed. They give me a new room. But they screwed up in the computer. Instead of moving me from my room to the new room they kept my original room in my name, cancelled Chris’ original room and put him in the computers as having the new room. Now switch back to present. We are standing at the front counter while the front desk staff explains this all to us. We try not to fall over and not look like two stupid Americans who just came from a coffeeshop. Its seem like 2 hours but was probably only 2 minutes. They move Chris back to his original room and we head upstairs. Where we both immediately pass out.

This was awesome because we got all the effects of getting drunk without spending 2-3 hours of drinking AND we weren’t hung over. Perfect. Except we spent all day in a room fixing servers and only taking 1 bathroom break apiece. Tonight will be different though. Going to take Chris to a place called “Walk to Wok” where we’ll eat dinner and then …. we’ll walk near the redlight district and find a bar that sells Amstel Bier. Wish us luck.

Awe Amsterdam! We made it! Well we made it last night. Got to our Hotel rooms b
